As you will have seen on this site we have carp over 50lbs close to the Algarve. I have put a link to this water Boavista showing some English anglers catching fish to over 40lbs but i have to tell you that you cannot just turn up and fish this water from now as its all changed and its complicated. One angler was fined 2,000€ a few weeks ago for fishing without permission. Basically you have to join our Carp Society at 50€ per year then if you can prove you are a responsible angler you can book a swim and fish there for a modest price, lots of rules but most seem sensible.
